How to style your Summer shawl with panache!
Think scarves or shawls are just for cold weather? Think again! Fashionistas everywhere wear shawls to accessorize or complete their outfits. Shawls are an effective way to add interest (and a touch of drama) to an otherwise simplistic get up. So check out are 6 ways to transform a basic occasion dress into a chic ensemble. Here I’m using a small Pretty Knot Scarf Lock and a sheer shawl to maximum effect, but any light pashmina or delicate scarf will do.
6 beautifying ways to style your shawl this Summer.
Look put-together, feminine and effortless. All you need is a light shawl and a Scarf Lock.
1. The Navel Gazer.
Simply drape your shawl over your shoulders and tie the ends together at navel height with a Scarf Lock. This plunging neckline accentuates your bust while concealing your upper arms. An especially attractive option if you’re a busty, hourglass shape and prefer a little coverage.
2. The Mid-Bust Drape.
Tie your shawl with a Scarf Lock just below your bust and gather fabric at your shoulders. This style lets your arms move freely while adding a romantic touch to your neckline - in the form of soft, cascading folds.
3. The Butterfly Flutter.
Give the illusion of dainty, short sleeves by tying your shawl just above your cleavage. Gently pull on the fabric to barely cover your shoulders. I love a decorative way to cover my decolletage. So cute.
4. The Ocean Wave
Create a dramatic, asymmetrical neckline by tying the ends of your shawl to a dress trap. Let the fabric drape down your shoulders for a feminine look. I love how the Scarf Lock doubles perfectly as a brooch.
5. The Gazelle Neckline
This style is the same as above - but with fabric pulled up and over the shoulder, on one side only. The narrower neckline has an elongating effect, while adding an ancient Roman flair.
6. The Vibrant Gazelle.
Add a pop to your outfit with a contrasting color. This style is the same as above but with more depth and distinct layers. A contrasting scarf also frames your face beautifully.
